Interim govt pledges to act with public support against disruptive efforts

NN Online:

The interim government has vowed to take necessary actions in consultation with the people if any attempts are made to obstruct its duties or disrupt the country’s normal functioning.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Council of Advisers emphasized that the government is committed to upholding the public aspirations of the historic July Uprising, and reiterated its dedication to reform, the judicial process, and ensuring fair elections.

“If the government is hindered from carrying out its responsibilities due to the influence of defeated elements or under the guise of foreign conspiracies, it will make the situation clear to the public and take appropriate decisions,” the statement said.

The Council stressed the need for national unity to ensure stability, move forward with electoral and judicial reforms, and permanently prevent any return to dictatorship.

The statement also said the interim administration would take into account the positions of political parties and would clearly communicate the government’s stance on relevant issues.

An unscheduled meeting of the Council of Advisers was held following the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting on Saturday. The session took place at the Planning Commission in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Yunus.

The meeting focused on the three core mandates of the interim government—elections, reforms, and justice. It discussed concerns over how the work environment is being disturbed by baseless demands, politically motivated statements, and extrajudicial activities, which are generating confusion among the public.

Despite facing numerous challenges, the interim government affirmed its commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities, placing national interest above group or partisan agendas.
