Army urges people not to believe rumours

The Bangladesh Army has urged the public to remain vigilant and not be misled by false information being spread using the logo of the country’s armed forces.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Friday (May 23), the Army warned that a vested group is attempting to create confusion and unrest by publishing a fake press release using the logo of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.

The statement read, “Recently, a vested group has circulated a fake press release using the logo of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. This act is aimed at misleading the public and attempting to create division between the armed forces and the people.”

Calling on citizens not to fall for such rumors, the statement added, “Do not believe rumors. Do not be misled. Verify information and stay aware.”
