The closing ceremony and certificate distribution of the 5-day training workshop on block batik was held on Thursday at the Chamber Conference Hall under the initiative of SME Foundation and Sylhet Chamber. Sylhet Chamber Administrator Additional District Magistrate Farzana Akhter Mita presided over the event. SME Foundation Manager Saju Baruya and Deputy Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Parvez were present as guests at the event.
In his welcome speech, the chamber administrator said that the training workshop on block batik organized by the SME Foundation and Sylhet Chamber of Commerce is very timely. Through the training workshop, the skills of entrepreneurs are enhanced, as well as the quality of the products. He said that the demand for block batik cloth in the market is increasing day by day. The number of entrepreneurs should be increased to supply products according to this demand. He called on the women of Sylhet to come forward in the economic sector by undergoing training.
At the event, SME Foundation Manager Saju Baruya said that there is no end to learning. Quality improvement is essential to keep one’s products ahead in the growing market. SME Foundation is working towards this goal. He thanked the Sylhet Chamber of Commerce for its overall cooperation in organizing the 5-day training workshop.
Sylhet Chamber Secretary Md. Golam Akhter Faruk, SME Foundation trainer and National Skill Development Authority and Bangladesh Technical Education Board evaluator Nazmun Nahar, trainees Selina Akhter and Kites Masud also spoke at the event. Sylhet Chamber officials and trainees were present at the event. Certificates were distributed among 30 trainees at the event.
