Sharankhola HSC examinees surround UNO office

Students of Sharankhola Government Degree College surrounded the UNO office in Sharankhola under Bagerhat district on Sunday morning with a protest rally. They held this program in protest against the change of venue of the upcoming HSC examination center from Sharankhola to the neighboring Morelganj Upazila.
On Sunday, more than three hundred students surrounded the Upazila Sadar Rayenda Bazar and surrounded the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office in the Upazila campus. College students Nafis Sihab, Faria, Akash, Antara and Kawsar Hossain, among others, spoke at the time. The students told, the distance from Sharankhola Sadar to Morelganj is 25 kilometers and to go so far to take the exam, students will have to face various financial and other complications.
Sometimes they are also late to participate in the exam due to illness. Therefore, they demanded that an examination center be set up in any institution in Sharankhola Upazila. Sudipta Kumar Sinha, UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Sharankhola told the students, we have listened to the students’ demands with sympathy. The higher authorities have been informed of their demands.
