Chattogram Bureau :
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and the Railways on 21 April 2025 for the purpose of jointly managing the hospitals operated by Bangladesh Railway.
In light of the said Memorandum of Understanding, the Ministry of Health initially took the initiative to jointly manage the Chattagram Railway Hospital and provide general medical services.
For this, the name of Chattagram Railway Hospital was changed to “Railway General Hospital-Chattogram”. Recently, the Ministry of Health has posted 19 doctors and 9 nurses in the hospital.
It has also started providing medical services to the general public, including railway employees and railway pets, by increasing ancillary medical equipment and expanding facilities. The Ministry of Railways and Railways have requested all the people of the concerned area to avail healthcare services at the hospital.
The hospital is currently providing Orthopedics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Medicine, Dermatology and Sexual Health, Cardiology, ENT, Dental and Surgery services. In addition, laboratory and radiology services are available here. The outdoor service of the hospital is open to all and the indoor service will be launched in phases.
This facility will be expanded to other hospitals under the management of Bangladesh Railway in phases.
