KAU students form human chain for payment of arrears

On Tuesday, the 1st batch students of the Faculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences of Khulna Agricultural University (KAU) formed a movement and human chain at the temporary campus-1.
The 1st batch students of the Faculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences of Khulna Agricultural University completed a twelve-month internship as per the curriculum. Except for the last three months (February, March and April), a certain amount of honorarium was paid for the remaining nine months.
When the students asked the administration about this, the administration promised to pay the students three months’ money in one go.
The reason was cited as budget deficit and the University Grants Commission (UGC) assured to pay it when the budget arrives in June-July. However, the students were informed that no one would sit for the exam until they received the internship allowance. Later, even after a long time, the outstanding amount was not paid. In view of which, the students boycotted the final exam on May 3. Even in this, the administration did not budge.
