Homage paid to Shib Shankar

On the 17th death anniversary of Shib Shankar Chakraborty, a memorial meeting was held on Monday at the Bholananda Giri Ashram, Tikatuly, Dhaka.

Prof Hirendra Nath Biswas, the President of the Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Samaj Samskar Samity(BJHSSS) presided over the meeting. Ratan Chandra Paul, the Acting General Secretary of Samity delivered the welcome speech.

Substantial number of people attended the meeting and took part in the discussions. The speakers highlighted the life and contribution of the scholarly personality Shib Shankar Chakraborty in the field of social reform and progress especially of the Sanatan community throughout his life. Speakers also urged to spread his ideology to the young generation.

It may be mentioned that his thrust for knowledge encouraged him to earn three master degrees, of them two from the University of Dhaka. In professional life, he was the Chief Accountant of the Apex group of industries.
