Cases filed against 283 people including Hasina

A case has been filed against 283 people, including Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, DB Harun and 17 actors.

The case was filed at Bhatara Police Station in the capital on May 3 on the orders of the court.

The son of the deceased Abdul Gani of Konapara village, Maska union, Kendua upazila, Netrokona district, who was shot during the anti-discrimination movement, filed the case as the plaintiff. 400/500 more unidentified people have been named as accused in the case.

According to the case details, Enamul Haque was shot in the right leg during the anti-discrimination movement in the capital’s Bhatara Police Station on July 19/24. Local people and journalists quickly rescued him and after initial treatment at a private hospital, he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on an emergency basis.

In view of this, a case was filed at Bhatara Police Station against Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, DB Harun, Police Officer Biplab Kumar and 17 actors, including 283 named people and 400/500 unknown people, on the orders of the court.

With the permission of the court, the injured Enamul Haque himself filed the case as the plaintiff on May 3. Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, DB Harun, Biplab Kumar and 9 others were made accused in the case. Asim Kumar Ukil, former MP of Netrokona-3 constituency and cultural secretary of the central A’League, Sadek Agro Limited owner Imran Hossain, former MP of reserved women’s constituency and former general secretary of the central Jubo Mohila League Apu Ukil, and actors Zayed Khan, Suborna Mostafa, Apu Biswas, Rokeya Prachir, Simon Sadiq, Azizul Hakim, Meher Afroz Shaon, Nipun Akhter, Tanvin Sweety, Sohana Saba, Nusrat Faria, Syeda Kamrun Nahar Shahnur, Urmila Srabanti Kar, Zakia Moon, Jyotika Jyoti, Asna Habib Bhabna and Tarin Jahan were made accused as the ones who provided funds to suppress the movement. Others were charged with indiscriminately firing on the student crowd with domestic and foreign weapons in conjunction with law enforcement.
