NN Online :
Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Organizer for the southern region of the National Citizens’ Party, has called for a large-scale gathering after Friday prayers today, demanding a ban on the Awami League.
The event is set to take place in front of the fountain on the eastern side of the chief advisor’s Jamuna residence. Speaking from an ongoing protest at the location around 8:30 AM, Hasnat urged people of all political affiliations to join the assembly.
He noted that preparations, including stage construction, are already underway. “After Friday prayers, there will be a sea of people,” he said, adding, “Today they will see who truly wants the Awami League banned.”

Meanwhile, A group of students, led by leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP), staged a protest in front of the chief adviser’s residence, Jamuna, on Thursday night, demanding a political ban on the Awami League.
The demonstration, which began around 10 p.m., was ongoing at the time of reporting.
Protesters chanted slogans calling for the prosecution of Awami League leaders and the party’s complete removal from the political landscape.
Earlier, Hasnat Abdullah announced the sit-in via a Facebook post, declaring that the group would remain at Jamuna until a clear roadmap was presented for the trial, deregistration, and banning of the Awami League.
In a separate post, NCP Convener Nahid Islam stated that the future of the Awami League would be determined by the end of the night.
He voiced frustration over what he described as ongoing delays in holding the ruling party accountable and criticized the lack of concrete action toward its deregistration and ban.
Nahid also called on all political groups, along with the families of martyrs and the wounded, to join the protests and remain on the streets until justice is served.
