A housewife has been accused of raping her at gunpoint in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj.
The incident took place at a house in the municipal town on Monday night.
The victim housewife filed a case with Katiadi Model Police Station on Tuesday. A person named Hakim Mia (25) was named as the accused in the case. Hakim Mia is a resident of the upazila.
Officer in charge( OC , Investigation) of Katiadi Model Police Station, Habibullah Khan confirmed the matter.
The case file shows that the housewife lives with her husband and two children.
The husband works at a tea shop during the day and as a night watchman at night. On Eid, the husband leaves the house as usual to keep watch.
After 10 pm, the housewife and her two children fall asleep. At around 1 am, masked robbers entered the house by breaking the window. They took away the money and gold ornaments from the house.
Before leaving, one of the robbers held the housewife hostage at gunpoint and raped her. When the mask was removed during the scuffle, the housewife recognized Hakim Mia.
Hakim is the housewife’s neighbor.
The victim housewife said that there were five to six people in the robbers’ group. Among them, Hakim Mia raped her.
If she told anyone about the rape incident, they threatened to come and kill the entire family later. When her husband returned home in the morning, she told them about the robbery and rape.
Then she went to the police station and filed a case.Victim has been sent to Kishoreganj 250- bed General Hospital for a medical examination.
