Brothers Union, Legends of Rupganj, Gazi Group Cricketers won their respective matches of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket on Tuesday.
At the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar, Brothers Union Limited defeated Partex Sporting Club by 29 runs in their eighth match.
Sent into bat first, Brothers Union made a satisfactory 225 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs and then all out Partex Sporting Club for 196 off 48.1 overs. Zahiduzzaman Khan and Sohag Gazi hit 47 and 42 runs respectively for Brothers Union.
Jawad Royen, Tanvir Hossain and Mohor Sheikh of Partex Sporting Club picked up two wickets each. Alauddin Babu and Ahrar Amin notched up 68 and 56 runs respectively for Partex Sporting Club.
Jayed Ullah of Brothers Union grabbed three wickets in the space of 24 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling display.
Rahatul Ferdous, Alok Kapali and Al Amin Hossain bagged two wickets each.
At the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur, Legends of Rupganj posted a resounding 172-run victory over Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club in their eight match.
Put into bat first, Legends of Rupganj piled up a huge 298 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 50 overs and then bundled out Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club for a fragile 126 off 42.2 overs.
Jaker Ali of Legends of Rupganj remained unbeaten with 73 runs. He hit five fours and two sixes in his 85-ball innings.
Tanzid Hasan was the other batter of Legends of Rupganj who made a superb 61. His 59-ball innings had 11 fours.
Later, Samiun Bashir Ratul played the key role in wrecking Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club innings. He captured five wickets in lieu of 27 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.
At the BKSP Ground-4 in Savar, Gazi Group Cricketers posted an easy four-wicket victory over Gulshan Cricket Club in their eighth match.
Chasing Gulshan Cricket Club’s fighting total of 281 for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs, Gazi Group reached the winning target making 283 for the loss of six wickets when they had just 10 balls to spare.
Anamul Haque Bijoy of Gazi Group Cricketers remained unbeaten with 144 runs. His 142-ball innings was belted with 11 fours and three sixes.
Earlier, Litton Das notched up a superb 83 for Gulshan Cricket Club. He hit five sixes and seven fours.
