Nat’l polls will resolve all problems Says Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said all crises of the political arena will be resolved by conducting a national election without delaying.

“A quick national election is essential to overcome all challenges of the country. Necessary reforms should be implemented to facilitate this election,” he said during an Iftar event at Dhaka Ladies Club in the capital on Friday.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman virtually joined the event as the chief guest.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Troubles cannot be solved by relying on illusions or utopian thoughts, nor can they be resolved through emotions. We must think realistically, plan for the future, and work towards change to establish a new and democratic Bangladesh.”

The BNP leader said reforms work of the interim government was initiated maintaining communication with BNP.

“It is clear that we are reviewing their proposals and presenting our viewpoints. However, we must remember to consider the political heritage, religious values, culture, and traditions of the people of Bangladesh while choosing the path of reform and development,” he said.

Mirza Fakhrul highlighted the current political challenges, stating, “We are going through a very difficult time. After the mass uprising ousted the fascist regime, an interim government was formed. The people are now waiting for the establishment of a new democratic parliament.”

The BNP leader referred to the party’s 31-point reform agenda, introduced by Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman two years ago, Fakhrul said, “The state system has collapsed, and our 31-point agenda offers comprehensive reforms necessary for meaningful transformation.”
