The world is shocked due to the ruthless and brutality of Israeli prime minister and US president Donald Trump in midst of the Gaza ceasefire in Gaza.
“In exchange for how many more lives in Gaza, will the thirst of the bloodthirsty be quenched”? said those who have suffered.
United Nations chief Antonio Guterres says he is “outraged by the Israeli air strikes in Gaza”, joining a chorus of international condemnation as more than 400 Palestinians have been killed, including many women and children.
Meanwhile, the Israeli people are protesting against their prime minister Netanyahu over Gaza airstrikes amid the ceasefire, And Israeli opposition leader urges mass protests against Netanyahu’s government.
Yair Lapid, Israel’s opposition leader and former prime minister, has called on the public to rally against the government of PM Netanyahu, accusing it of having “no red lines” after resuming war in Gaza.
“Taher al-Nono, a Hamas official, stated that the group has not closed the door on negotiations, despite the renewed Israeli bombardment of Gaza.”
“Hamas has not closed the door on negotiations but we insist there is no need for new agreements,” he told the AFP news agency on the phone from Cairo, also calling for Israel to be forced to implement the ceasefire.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, al-Nono said: “Why do we have to present new proposals while a signed ceasefire agreement exists, with international parties acting as guarantors?”
“There is also a UN Security Council resolution. We have positively responded to all the efforts made towards us,” he said.
“It was Netanyahu that backed down on the agreement. It was Netanyahu who turned a blind eye to it. Therefore, it is Netanyahu, not Hamas or the Palestinian resistance, that should be pressured to comply,” he added.
Al-Nono also said that Israel has “no justification to their actions, past or present”. “They continue to breach the agreement they had signed,” he concluded.
“Israel launched a wave of airstrikes across Gaza on Tuesday, marking its heaviest assault since the ceasefire took effect in January.”
At least 436 Palestinians, including 183 children, have been killed since Israel resumed the bombardment of Gaza in the early hours on Tuesday, and at least five killed on Wednesday according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that a wave of air strikes that killed hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza overnight is “only the beginning”.
In a televised address on Tuesday evening, Netanyahu also said that Israeli forces would strike Hamas with “increasing force” and future ceasefire negotiations would “only take place under fire”.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the strikes because of a lack of progress in talks to extend the ceasefire. And The White House officials said it had been consulted and voiced support for Israel’s actions.
Hamas warned that Israel’s new airstrikes breached their ceasefire and put the fate of hostages in jeopardy.
According to Al Jazeera reports, Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 48,577 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 112,041 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. Gaza’s Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble are presumed dead. At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attacks and more than 200 were taken captive.
