Before she entered the film industry, Bangladesh’s favourite film actress, Moushumi, was the favourite heroine
of Shahnoor.
Shahnoor’s real name is Moushumi. That’s why her love for the heroine Moushumi was a little more, which Shahnoor still has.
Shahnoor had to change her name to ‘Moushumi’ to start her journey in the film industry after stepping into the world of cinema.
Shahnoor’s journey as a heroine began in Dhallywood in 1999 with her performance in the movie ‘Fashir Adesh’ directed by M A Khaleque.
Shahnoor’s family name is Syeda Kamrunnahar Moushumi. Although Shahnoor’s first film was ‘Fashir Adesh’, the movie was not released later.
Shahnoor made her big screen debut on January 9, 2000, through the movie ‘Ziddi Sontan’ directed by Zillur Rahman Moyna. Opposite her in the movie was Rubel, one of the busiest heroes of that time.
It seems that Shahnoor has already passed the silver jubilee period, that is, 25 years, in her career as an actress in films.
After ‘Ziddi Sontan’, Shahnoor’s notable films released at various times are: ‘Swapner Bashor’, ‘Hazar Bochhor Dhore’, ‘Mayer Jonyo Juddho’, ‘Shesh Juddho’, ‘Rajdhani’, ‘Noyon Bhora Jol’, ‘Love Station,’ ‘Prem Songhat’, ‘Karagar’, ‘Indubala’, etc.
Shahnoor is currently outside the country, in USA. There she is busy with stage shows and other works.
However, she couldn’t confirm exactly when she would return home. Shahnoor’s first TV drama was ‘Kuashar Shesh Chithi’. Her first drama serial was ‘Tamadi’ directed by Jahangir Alam Sumon.
While talking about her long acting career, Shahnoor told this correspondent, “Today, I am reminded of many memories of the day I left behind. None of those who have inspired me since the beginning of my journey are here today. Many people have disappeared from my life. Sometimes I miss them very much. To be honest, our life is short, but there are so many desires. I don’t want much in life. I’m fine just the way I am now. My father is not alive, I miss him a lot. My mother lives with me. My world of happiness is with my mother. Thanks and gratitude to those who have played an important role in my film world, thanks to all the viewers and media. I have my sincere gratitude to all my fans and viewers. Because of the viewers, I have been able to become their ‘Shahnoor’ today.”
Meanwhile, As a director, Shahnoor has made documentaries.
She has a strong desire to make at least one film. She intends to work on it after returning home.
Shahnoor also said that Badiul Alam Khokon directed ‘Raja Babu’ is Shahnoor starrer her 50th movie. The upcoming movies starring Shahnoor are: ‘Jibon Jontrona’, ‘Apohoron’, ‘Hobarto Hobei Prem’, ‘Ke Amar Shotru’, ‘Kaktarua’, etc.
Among them, ‘Kaktarua’ is a government-funded film that has no chance of being released.eanwhile, Shahnoor has supported the poor, helpless, and orphans at various times through her own foundation, Shahnoor Foundation.
