JCD to form human chains nationwide on Monday
NN Online:
The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) – the student wing of the BNP – announced on Sunday that it will organise human chains at educational institutions nationwide on Monday to protest the increasing incidents of rape, online harassment, and violence against women.
The programme also aims to register a protest against the deterioration of law and order in the country, alongside the widespread lack of justice for victims of such crimes.
JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir made the announcement in a press release, signed by the organisation’s Office Secretary M Jahangir Alam.
“The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has announced a human chain programme in all educational institutions across the country on Monday to protest violence, oppression, rape, and online harassment against women, as well as the overall deterioration of law and order and the culture of impunity,” it reads.
The JCD president and general secretary called upon all their members, leaders, and activists to actively participate in the programme to make it a success.
