Leading University, the first private university in Sylhet, celebrated 24 years of success.
On Tuesday, a colorful procession was taken out under the leadership of the founder and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Leading University, Danbir Dr. Syed Ragib, with the participation of teachers, students, officers and employees of the university. After the procession, the founder and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the university, Danbir Dr. Syed Ragib Ali and guests flew a symbol of peace and flew a balloon.
A discussion meeting on two eras of success was organized at the university’s Gallery-1 at 11:30 am under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Mohammad Taj Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of Leading University.
Danbir Dr. Syed Ragib was the chief guest at the discussion meeting.
Syed Ragib Ali said, Leading University is creating human resources through quality teaching in a pleasant environment on a beautiful permanent campus surrounded by greenery.
He suggested that research activities should be continued in the university along with teaching.
In his speech, Leading University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Taj Uddin said, Leading University is at this stage today due to the skillful work plan and correct guidance of the philanthropist Dr. Syed Ragib Ali. Leading University is spreading the light of education throughout the country including Sylhet and the students of this university are bringing fame to the university by working efficiently in various fields in the country and abroad. Along with celebrating these achievements of two decades, we have to prepare a future work plan. Students are the lifeblood of the university, so they should be taught properly and made efficient. For this purpose, teachers and officials should work to take the institution further forward beyond routine work.
Additional Secretary (Development and Planning) of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Md. Farhad Siddique said, building a private university is a very difficult task. He thanked the visionary of this university, the philanthropist Dr. Syed Ragib Ali, and said that research can be done on him in social sciences. He has built many other renowned universities, but he named this university Leading in the sense that one day it was his dream to become a leading university. He also said, since its establishment, this university has been conducting educational programs very successfully, behind which the philanthropist Dr. Syed Ragib Ali has contributed. He feels honored to be invited to attend today’s event, wishing for the further development of this university in the future.
