Open soybean oil price fixed at Tk160 per litre

The maximum price of open soybean oil per liter in the retail market of Chattagram for the holy month of Ramadan has been fixed at 160 taka, said CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain.
On Tuesday (March 4), a special task force committee held a meeting with importers, dealers, traders, cabs, student leaders and other concerned parties at the Chattagram Circuit House to discuss the price control of edible oil and daily necessities.
The mayor said, “In view of Ramadan, we were seeing instability in the prices of daily necessities. Edible oil has disappeared from retail shops.
With the agreement of importers, traders of Khatunganj, and consumer rights, the maximum price of open soybean oil in the market is 153 taka at the mill gate and 155 taka at the traders’ level in Khatunganj.”
The maximum retail price of soybean oil in the market has been fixed at 160 taka. If anyone sells at a higher price, the highest legal action will be taken. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Farida Khanam said that there is a crisis of edible oil in Chattagram.
A meeting has been held with everyone to overcome it. If any trader goes beyond this decision and sells oil at a higher price in the retail or wholesale market, then legal action will be taken through a special task force committee.
Police Superintendent Md. Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Kamruzzaman, Additional District Magistrate Syed MahbubulHaque were present at the meeting.
