Jubo Dal leader expelled for violating party rules

A local Jubo Dal leader in Sylhet has been expelled from the party for violating organizational rules.
A notification in this regard was issued by Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan, assistant office secretary of the party’s Central Executive Committee, on Friday night.
The expelled leader is Joydeb Chowdhury Madhob, assistant organizing secretary of the Jubo Dal Sylhet City Unit.
The notification stated: “The party will not take any responsibility for the misdeeds of the expelled leader. Leaders and activists of the party have been instructed not to maintain any organizational relation with the expelled leader.”
This decision was made under the directive of the central president and secretary of the party.
Earlier, around 9:00 PM on Friday, hawkers blockaded Zindabazar Road in the city for about an hour and a half. During their protest, they claimed that two hawkers were taken by the Jubo Dal leader after they refused to pay extortion money. The demonstrators demanded their unconditional release and an end to all forms of extortion.
In response to the protesters’ demands, Emdad Hossain Chowdhury, general secretary of the city BNP unit, arrived at around 10:30 PM and assured the protesters that proper action would be taken.Afterward, the hawkers cleared the road.
However, the accused, Joydeb Chowdhury Madhob, denied the extortion allegations.
Md Ziual Haque, officer-in-charge of Sylhet Kotwali Model Police Station, stated that no formal complaints have been filed in this regard.
