Tale of an elephant and a family

Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
Actor Niloy Alamgir’s love for animals is more or less known to everyone including his close people.
Sometimes the actor arranges food for stray animals. A few days ago, he took the initiative to collect food for the dogs of St. Martin because at that time the entry of tourists to the island was closed.
This time the story of Niloy’s animal love will also be seen in the drama. Niloy shot with an elephant.
In the drama titled ‘Niharkoli’, Lutfar Rahman George played the role of Niloy’s father, and Jannatul Sumaiya Heme played the role of Niloy’s wife.
Many movies made with elephants have been popular. After seeing those movies, Niloy wanted to work with elephants.
An incident a few days ago increased that desire. A few days ago, an elephant torture incident went viral. Later, the Ministry of Forest and Environment rescued the elephant. The incident left a scar on Niloy’s mind.
The drama ‘Niharkoli’ was made on the basis of that incident.
The drama is written by Sezan Noor, and directed by Fazlul Haque.
Before this, Niloy acted in three dramas under the direction of Fazlul Haque. The dramas were: ‘Chheleti Sotti Esechhilo’, ‘Tomake Chai’ and ‘Ek Ticket e Duti Chhobi’. It’s Niloy’s fourth drama with Fazlul Haque.
Fazlul Haque produced five serials and about hundred dramas have been aired. But the drama was a very challenging work for him.
The shooting of the drama was done in Pubail.
Regarding talking about the drama, director Fazlul Haque told this correspondent, “Niloy Bhai, George Bhai, Heme and all the production team have worked very hard. While working with elephants, I cried emotionally in some scenes. I am very optimistic about the drama.”
Actor Niloy Alamgir shared his feelings by this way, “Working with elephants is my dream for a long time, and so is the director. It’s quite difficult to maintain the elephant, to work with our emotions and his emotions in the district. A few days ago a video of elephant torture went viral. Later, the elephant was rescued with the intervention of the Ministry of Forest and Environment. The story of this drama is based on that incident. I have played the role of mahout (who is the conductor or trainer or guard of the elephant). When the elephant is young, a family earns money from it. It provides food for the elephant. But when the elephant gets old, the opportunity to earn money with it decreases. After the family had a financial crisis, the elephant’s food supply was reduced. As a result, the family fell into disaster. The older elephant becomes a burden to the family. Basically we tried to show the suffering of elephants. This is our dream project. So we have done the work with sincerity even in the midst of various obstacles and hardships.”
The drama will be aired on Banglavision on the upcoming Eid.
