Lokman acquitted from ACC case: Dhaka Mohammedan’s election in May

The last election of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited was held on March 6, 2021. The term of this board of directors is two years.

Elections were supposed to be held by March 5, 2023, but two more years have passed. In this situation, the current board of directors of Mohammedan has taken the initiative to complete the election within next three months.

The meeting of the board of directors of the club was held on Saturday. In this meeting it was decided to hold elections in May. Although the date was not fixed, a preliminary date of May 3 or 10 was fixed in the meeting.

The former director in charge Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, who has not been to the club for a long time. There is a possibility that Lokman will return to the board of directors of the club.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against him in 2019 on charges of money laundering. After 6 years, that case was decided he was acquitted by the verdict. The court acquitted Lokman from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) case.

Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan’s lawyer Barrister Md. Ismail Hossain said, “The state party could not present the evidence of money laundering against him in the court. We have been able to prove that he did not do any money laundering.”
