Students hold protest rally to protest rape

Students of Banaripara Government Model Union Institution (Pilot) School and Girls Secondary School have held a protest rally against the ongoing rape and violence against women across the country and demanding maximum punishment for rapists under the Speedy Trial Act and ensuring public safety.

The protest march, which started at 11 am on Thursday, was held on the main roads of Banaripara Municipality with students holding banners and placards and chanting various slogans.
At one stage, the general public and students of various educational institutions also participated in it. At the rally held at Dakbungalo premises after the protest march, Assistant Teacher of Banaripara Girls Secondary School Md. Shahriar Ahmed Sajeeb, moderated by Assistant Teacher Palash Debnath, addressed the gathering.

At this time, he said, the law and order situation has deteriorated drastically across the country. No one is safe on the streets or in front of their own homes.
