500 cop patrol units deployed in Dhaka

Police activities have been intensified in the Dhaka metropolitan area to maintain law and order situation. It has been reported that about 500 patrol teams have been on duty in 50 police stations of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the last 24 hours.
In addition, patrol teams of CTTC, ATU, APBN and RAB have been on duty at 54 police check posts at important places in the capital.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Department of DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman said this on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 639 more individuals were arrested during the nationwide ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ in last 24 hours.
During this period, 999 individuals were also apprehended across the country on various charges.
With the new arrests, the total number of arrests rose to 9,892 during the nationwide ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ for the last 18 days.
Police Headquarter AIG (Media and Public Relations) Inamul Haque Sagar confirmed the detention on Sunday afternoon. During this period, the joint forces also recovered various arms from the arrested people. Earlier, the government announced the special operation, Operation Devil Hunt, across the country, including Gazipur, aiming to maintain law and order and bring terrorists to justice On February 8.
The decision was made during a high-level law enforcement meeting at the Secretariat on the day, following an attack on students and civilians in Gazipur on February 7 night.
