Office hour set for Ramadan

The government has announced new office hours for government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous organisations during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Public Administration on Monday issued a gazette notification in this regard.
According to the notification, the office timing for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan will commence from 9am to 3:30pm.
There will be a 15-minute break from 1:15pm to 1:30pm for Zohr prayers while weekly holidays will be on Friday and Saturday.
Currently, the regular office timing for government employees is from 9am to 5pm.
Besides, banks, insurance, other financial institutions, postal services, railways, hospitals, state-owned industrial institutions, factories and other emergency service-providers will fix their respective office hours as per their own laws or rules, considering public interest, it mentioned.
However, the Bangladesh Supreme Court (SC) will fix the office timing for all courts across the country, the notification added.
The holy month of Ramadan of Hijri 1446 (2025 year) of the Arabic Calendar is expected to begin on March 01, subject to sighting of the moon.
