BB to issue new notes from March 19 ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr

As in previous years, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) is set to release new banknotes in denominations of Tk 5, Tk 20, and Tk 50 ahead of the upcoming Holy Eid-ul-Fitr. These notes will be made available through various scheduled banks across the Dhaka region.
The common people will be able to take new notes from March 19 to March 25 (except the weekends and government holidays), reads a central bank’s press release.
It said that the new notes of Tk 5, Tk 20 and Tk 50 denominations will be distributed under special measures through 80 branches of various scheduled banks in Dhaka region as well as through various offices of Bangladesh Bank during the above mentioned time frame.
One person will be able to collect notes once.
