Fire at Islambag building under control

A fire broke out at a building in the capital’s Islambag area on Saturday afternoon.

According to Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters, the fire started at around 3:17 pm.

Being informed, eight firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at around 4:27pm.

Fire Service Assistant Director Kazi Nazmuzzaman said they are investigating whether the fire began in the house or the factory.

The extent of the damage could not be determined immediately.

The agency reported receiving the alert at 3:17pm, with the first Lalbagh unit arriving within 8 minutes.

Eight units responded in total, including another from Lalbagh, two from Hazaribagh, two from Palashi, and two from Siddiqbazar.

The fire was controlled by 4:27pm after an hour of effort.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
