political arena: Students will shape BD’s future

Staff Reporter :

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has emphasized that young students will be the architects of Bangladesh’s future.

He stated that the true purpose of education is to enlighten individuals with the spirit of humanity.

“Children should be raised with discipline so that everyone prays for their bright future.

The humane Bangladesh we envision will be built by today’s children. That is why we must encourage students to grow into exemplary individuals,” Dr. Rahman said.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at an educational materials distribution event organized by Sylhet Metropolitan Jamaat on Sunday (February 9) afternoon.

Dr. Rahman further stressed the importance of nurturing young students as enlightened individuals.

“The primary goal of today’s distribution event is to inspire students in their academic pursuits. Allah sent the Prophet (PBUH) as a teacher of humanity,” he stated.

Highlighting Islam’s emphasis on education, he said, “Education holds immense significance in Islam. In the presence of parents and teachers, every individual becomes humble.

Those who guided us during childhood are among our foremost guardians. Therefore, respected teachers—the true architects of human character—must be given due respect and honor.”

The event was presided over by Jamaat’s Central Executive Council member and Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer, Muhammad Fakhrul Islam, and conducted by Metropolitan Secretary Mohammad Shahjahan Ali.

Among the distinguished speakers were:
Muktabis-UN-Noor, former Sylhet Press Club President and Daily Jalalabad editor
Dr. Sultan Ahmed, Sylhet Agricultural University Professor
Principal Maulana Abdus Salam Al Madani, renowned educationist and Islamic scholar
Hafiz Abdul Hai Harun, Jamaat’s Sylhet regional team member
The program commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Hafiz Imran Khan, followed by Islamic songs performed by artists Majed Mahfuz and Rashedul Hasan Russell.

A large number of teachers, students, parents, and professionals attended the event, where educational materials and cash gifts were distributed among meritorious students from various educational institutions.

In his concluding speech, Muhammad Fakhrul Islam stressed the importance of integrating moral values with conventional education.

“If we can combine mainstream education with ethics, we will be able to nurture individuals with strong moral character. Parents and teachers must prioritize this,” he stated.
