‘6 reform commissions to reveal recommendations on Feb 8’

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Prof Dr Asif Nazrul announced on Tuesday that the six reform commissions formed by the interim government will officially disclose their recommendations on February 8.
He made the announcement at a press conference held on Tuesday afternoon at the city’s Foreign Service Academy.
The law adviser said, “The full reports of the reform commissions would be published on February 8. On that day, the heads of the reform commissions will present a set of recommendations on what actions (short, medium, and long-term) need to be taken for the reform process. On the same day, these reports and recommendations will be delivered to political parties and the forces involved in the July uprising.
“Following discussions and consensus-building with political parties and the supporting forces of the July uprising, the first formal meeting of the National Unity Commission will take place in mid-February.”
The adviser further mentioned that the final date for the National Unity Commission’s first meeting will be determined after consultations with political parties.
“The first meeting of the National Unity Commission will be chaired by Professor Muhammad Yunus, the head of the commission. Representatives from all political parties, supporting forces of the movement, and the heads of the reform commissions will be present at the meeting,” he added.
Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar, and Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi were present at the press briefing.
