Cold wave in Ishwardi

Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent :

A gentle cold current is flowing over Ishwardi. The cold weather increased with thick fog and frosty air. With that the temperature started to drop. Especially the people along the banks of Padma river have been overcome by severe cold due to the northerly frosty wind.

The plight of the floating and uprooted people is indescribable. Meanwhile, dense fog has reduced the speed of trains especially at night in the western railways. The schedule of some trains has been disrupted due to this.

The lowest temperature of Ishwardi was recorded at 9.5 degrees on Sunday (January 26). Earlier, on January 26, 9.5 degrees and January 25 was 9.2 degrees Celsius.

For the past few days, the temperature has been below 12 degrees. Assistant observer of the Meteorological Office Nazmul Haque Ranjan said the temperature was likely to drop further.

People floating at the station on Saturday night were seen suffering from the winter. Many are not getting out of the house without the need.

In this situation, the poor people of the working-class are suffering in extreme misery. It has stalled the life of the Ishwardi region. There is no end to the misery in the intensity of winter. Many could not go to work.

The Pakshi Divisional Railway Engineer-2 Birmandal said the night trains are moving slowly to avoid accidents due to dense fog, although there is no instructions for slowing down.
