Sylhet District Tax Lawyers Association’s election held

The annual election of the Sylhet District Tax Lawyers Association-2025 has been completed with great enthusiasm. The voting was held without interruption from 9 am to 4 pm on Thursday (January 23) at the association’s office in Mendibagh in the city.
Out of the 287 members of the association, 243 members elected their representatives in the election.
A total of 12 candidates contested for 6 positions in the election. In the election, Sirajul Hussain Ahmed (Alamgir) was elected as the president, Md. Shafiqul Islam as the vice-president, Muhammad Fazlur Rahman Shipu as the general secretary, Ajit Kumar Roy as the joint secretary-01.
Earlier, Mohammad Junaid Ahmed was elected as the joint secretary-2, Prabhat Chandra Debnath as the treasurer, Syed Abdul Hamid as the social welfare secretary, Moudud Ahmed as the library secretary and Md. Soleman Hossain Khan, Md. Rafiqul Haque, Mrityunjoy Dhar Bhola Advocate, Mohammad Abdul Alim Pathan, Md. Abul Fazal, Subrata Kumar Roy, Md. Hasnu Chowdhury, Kausar Mahmud Chowdhury were elected unopposed as members.
After the results were announced in the evening, Election Commissioner Mohammad Ajmal Hossain Advocate announced the names of the winners of the 2025 session of the Sylhet District Tax Lawyers Association. Assistant Election Commissioner Income Tax Lawyer Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Assistant Election Commissioner Income Tax Lawyer Md. Iftiak Hossain Manju were present at the time.
