He made this appeal during the 17th installation ceremony of the ‘Colonel of the Regiment’ of the historic East Bengal Regiment, held at the Shaheed M R Chowdhury Parade Ground in the East Bengal Regimental Centre, Chattogram.

In his address, General Waker-uz-Zaman highlighted the significant strides made by the Bangladesh Army in recent years.

He also emphasised ongoing efforts to further bolster the army’s strength through the Engineers Defence Industry.

“I am committed to ensuring the supply of modern and combat-effective weapons and equipment to our forces,” he affirmed.

The Army Chief expressed his confidence in the professionalism and dedication of the East Bengal Regiment’s personnel.

“Each member of this regiment will perform their assigned duties with the utmost professionalism and will not hesitate to lay down their lives, if necessary, for the country,” he said.
