Brothers defeat Fortis FC in Fed Cup Football

Brothers Union Club defeated high-flying Fortis Football Club by a solitary goal in their match of the Federation Cup Football at Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday.

At the Bashundhara Kings Arena, Police Football Club edged past Dhaka Wanderers Club 2-1 in the day’s other Group-A match.

Kawser Ali Rabbi of Brothers Union Club scored the all-important goal.
Midfielder Kawser Ali Rabbi scored the all-important goal by a spectacular left-footer using a pass of his teammate Sajjad Hossain in the 36th minute of the match.

Fortis got the first opportunity of the match. Sajed Hasan Jummon’s corner kick was cleared by Brothers’ defender in the second minute of the play.

In the ninth minute of the match, Rahmat Mia’s power-packed long shot was fisted by Fortis goalie.
Fortis FC’s Ghanaian recruit Omar’s failed to head a ball which he got on his way from a free-kick of his teammate in the 24th minute of the game.

Fortis FC led the points table gaining seven points from four matches, while Brothers Union gained six points from three matches.

On the other hand, Police Football Club gained four points from three matches. Wanderers Club failed to open their account playing as many matches.
