The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has submitted a report on Information Commissioner Masuda Bhatti to the President.
The Supreme Court administration revealed the matter through a news update posted on its website on January 9.
“The report of the Supreme Judicial Council on Information Commissioner Masuda Bhatti has been sent to the President,” Appellate Division Registrar Md Hasanuzzaman told BSS.
Bhatti was appointed as an information commissioner on August 24, 2023.
Several cases were filed against Barrister Mainul Hosein, a former adviser of the then military-backed caretaker government, in 2018 after he made a comment about Masuda Bhatti on a television program.
Mainul Hosein, now dead, had to suffer in jail for several months in connection with the cases and Masuda Bhatti came into discussion in various circles over that incident.
