BNP standing committee members met the party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on Sunday.
Khaleda Zia’s meeting with the party’s highest policy-making forum took place before her upcoming tour to London for medical purpose.
After the meeting, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhurl Islam Alamgir told the media that they have met the party chief as she is scheduled to go London on Tuesday night.
Mirza Fakhrul said their meeting was for greeting and wishing her safe tour to London.
“We prayed for her early recovery with advanced treatment in the UK and the USA. We hope she will get returned soon after recovering all of her sickness,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
Earlier, members of the party’s standing committee Barrister Zamir Uddin Sarkar, Dr. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Professor Selima Rahman, Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, and party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir participated the meeting.
BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed that the party’s senior leaders met Khaleda Zia at her residence, Firoza, in Gulshan around 8pm.
Following the final decision for her trip abroad, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman met with the BNP chairperson on Thursday.
Meanwhile, LDP President Col (retd) Oli Ahmed Bir Bikram on Sunday met BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Oli Ahmed went to Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence, Firoza, at 7:15pm and had a 30-minute meeting before leaving there at 8:00pm.
