Last Tuesday, the workers of Feni protested against the killing of seven ship workers, setting a minimum wage of 30,000 rupees for hotel workers, setting a price of 1,000 rupees per job for domestic workers, stopping labor torture, preventing the rise in commodity prices, bribery, corruption and irregularities.
Under the initiative of Sramik Sangham Oikya Parishad (SCOP) Feni and under the leadership of Nasir Uddin Bhuiyan Sabuj, convenor of Trade Union Sangh Feni, the workers in Feni organized a rally at the central Shaheed Minar of Feni after protesting on various roads, the general secretary of Vasani Smriti Sangsad, Advocate Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury spoke at the rally. Morshed, Feni District Hotel Workers Union President Iqbal Hossain, Domestic Workers Union Feni President Sultana Aktar Bakul, General Secretary of Feni Sadar Upazila Sawmill Workers Union Abdul Halim, Brave Freedom Fighter Abul Kashem and Member Secretary of Feni District Tailor Workers Union Dilara Begum.
