The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast several cold waves in the first month of the new year.
So January, 2025 will be colder than other years, said Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik, reports bdnews24.com
“At least one to three mild to moderate cold waves and one to two intense cold waves are likely to sweep through the country in January,” Mallick told bdnews24.com.
“Though the temperature will start dropping today, the weather will be chilly in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions from Wednesday. It may gradually spread to the eastern region of the country through the central region.”
This time the western part of the country is likely to experience scattered cold waves, Mallick said, adding it might continue until Friday.
The meteorologist also forecast the expansion of fog in the next few days.
