BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that a fascist conspiracy is still active in the country, aimed at dividing the nation.
“Just as on August 5, we must counter all conspiracies with the united strength of the people. Everyone must work together to establish peace and equality,” he said at a public rally held on Monday at Shibganj Degree College ground in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.
The rally was organized by Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila BNP, with its President Md. Abdul Hamid presiding and General Secretary Mahbub Hossain Tuhin moderating. District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin and other leaders from BNP-affiliated organizations also addressed the gathering.
Calling for national unity, Mirza Fakhrul urged everyone to remain steadfast against forces attempting to create division. “We have a unique opportunity before us. Let us seize it together,” he emphasized.
Criticizing the ruling Awami League, he claimed that over the past 15 years, the people of Bangladesh have been deprived of their voting rights. According to him, the government deceived the public by orchestrating three fraudulent elections.
He accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of spreading false propaganda internationally, claiming that Hindus were being persecuted in Bangladesh. Refuting these allegations, he said, “We are a peace-loving people who coexist harmoniously as Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and Muslims.”
Mirza Fakhrul alleged that the Awami League government laundered Taka 12,000 crore abroad annually and destroyed both the judiciary and the economy while using the police for political purposes.
