BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday called upon party leaders and activists to prepare for a determined struggle to defend the nation’s independence and sovereignty, cautioning against both domestic and international forces eyeing the country’s resources with predatory intent.

“The conspiracy continues unabated. You have proven yourselves by standing firm for democracy. However, the fight is far from over.

Greater challenges lie ahead. This is a battle for the people and democracy-a war to safeguard independence and sovereignty. To emerge victorious, we must persevere,” he said while addressing three BNP workshops virtually.

The workshops, titled *”31-Point State Structure Reform Proposal and Public Engagement,”* were organized by the BNP Training Affairs Committee across Munshiganj, Narsingdi, and Manikganj districts.

Tarique warned of an ongoing conspiracy by malevolent forces, both at home and abroad, against the BNP, its leadership, and the nation itself.

“Many are eyeing the country’s financial and natural resources with greed. If instability is created, or if a weak government that lacks popular support and fails to represent the people is maintained, it opens the door for the nation’s wealth to be exploited,” he said.

He emphasized that the country’s interests would be best protected under a patriotic, pro-people government with strong public support. “Such a government would deter those with predatory intentions toward the nation’s wealth and resources,” Tarique stated.

Reiterating the need for public trust, he urged party leaders and activists to work tirelessly to win the people’s confidence ahead of the next election.

“Our only option is to remain with the people, engaging with them consistently to secure their support and overcome electoral challenges,” he remarked.

Acknowledging the trials and tribulations BNP members have faced, he encouraged them to channel their experiences, knowledge, and wisdom into building public support.

Tarique expressed the confidence that the 31-point reform proposal, developed in collaboration with allied parties during their joint movement against the Awami League regime, would bring about positive change to the country.

He further assured that the BNP is open to considering suggestions from other parties or individuals for the greater good of the nation and its people. “If given the opportunity to govern with the people’s mandate, we will prioritize implementing the 31-point reform plan,” he said.
