Crown Cement okays 21pc cash dividend

The shareholders of Crown Cement have approved a 21 per cent cash dividend for the year ended 30 June 2024, as recommended by the board of directors. The approval was given during the 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company, which was held through a digital platform on Wednesday, says a press release.

At the AGM, the financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2024, along with the Auditors’ Report, the report of the Board of Directors, the election of the Board of Directors, the appointment of Statutory Auditors and Corporate Governance Compliance Auditors for the year ending 30 June 2025, and the fixation of their remuneration, were all approved.

Mohammed Jahangir Alam, Chairman of Crown Cement PLC, presided over the meeting, which was also attended by Vice-Chairman Md Alamgir Kabir, Managing Director Mollah Mohammad Majnu, Additional Managing Director Md Mizanur Rahman Mollah, Director Mohammed Almas Shimul, Independent Director Prof Dr M Abu Eusuf, and Chief Adviser of the Board Masud Khan, FCA, FCMA.

Sponsor Shareholders Md Ashrafuzzaman and Md Abdul Ahad, Chief Financial Officer Mohammad Ahasan Ullah, FCA, and other senior officials of the company also joined the meeting.
The meeting was conducted by Md Mozharul Islam, FCS, Senior General Manager and Company Secretary.
