Tarique warns of conspirators within party ranks

Staff Reporter :

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Tuesday claimed that certain conspirators’ agents had infiltrated the party and urged its leaders to take firm action against anyone seeking to harm the organisation for personal gain.

“Our leaders and activists have upheld the people’s trust in the party despite enduring severe repression.

If anyone among us tries to damage this trust for their own interests, I urge you to act decisively and address such individuals with a firm hand,” he said during a virtual address to three BNP workshops held simultaneously.

The workshops, titled “31-Point State Structure Reform Proposal and Public Engagement,” were organised by the BNP Training Affairs Committee across Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur Divisions.

The Dhaka Division event was held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh.
Over 2,500 grassroots leaders from upazila, thana, and municipality units participated in the sessions.

Tarique Rahman urged party leaders at all levels to monitor the actions of their subordinates to prevent anyone from tarnishing the party’s reputation for personal benefit.

He stressed that the BNP must return to power with public support to implement its 31-point reform proposal and serve the people.

“Our years of struggle, sacrifices, and careful planning will be in vain if we fail to achieve this. Winning public trust is crucial to our success.”

Tarique urged party colleagues to act with integrity and steer clear of immoral practices. “We must avoid unethical behaviour and stand firmly against wrongdoing,” he stated.

The BNP leader called on party members to make a solemn commitment to uphold public confidence at all costs.

He claimed that the BNP currently enjoys majority support among the people of Bangladesh, which has triggered jealousy among rival political parties. “Many conspiracies are being plotted against us,” he said.

He warned party members to remain vigilant and cautious about agents infiltrating the party as part of these schemes. “There are agents planted within our ranks. We must stay alert and cautious,” he added.

Tarique reiterated that the next election would be the most challenging the BNP had ever faced, despite their primary opponent being weaker than before.

“We must prepare ourselves to overcome the challenges of this difficult election with the support of the people. Stay close to the public and ensure their continued trust and confidence,” he urged.
