Martyred Intellectuals Day-2024 was observed with due dignity in Rangpur. On Saturday, wreaths were laid in memory of the martyred intellectuals, the best sons of the Bengali nation, at the Liberation War Memorial adjacent to Rangpur Town Hall at 9 am. On behalf of Begum Rokeya University, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shawkat Ali laid a wreath at the Liberation War Memorial adjacent to the city’s Damdama.
On the occasion of the day, a discussion meeting was held at the District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium organized by the Rangpur District Administration. Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Shahidul Islam was present as the chief guest in the meeting. District Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal presided over the program.
The special guests at the discussion were Aminul Islam, DIG of Bangladesh Police Rangpur Range, Md. Majid Ali, Additional Police Commissioner of Metropolitan Police, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Rangpur District President of Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party, BirMuktijoddhaAnsar Ali, General Secretary BirMuktijoddhaAbdusSattar, and others.
