Martyred Intellectuals Day was observed in Kishoreganj as elsewhere across the country in a befitting manner.
Marking the day, peoples from all walks of life paid rich tributes to the country’s golden sons and daughters, who were brutally murdered by the local collaborators of Pakistani occupation army at the fag end of the War of Liberation in 1971.
Leaders and activists of different socio-political and cultural organizations, government, non-government bodies and educational institutions placed wreaths at the Gurudgyal Government College Martyred Memorial here early hours on Saturday.
In observance of the day, District Administration arranged a discussion meeting held at local Callectorate conference room on Saturday, while Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj, Fouzia Khan in the chair.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Md.Hasan Chowdhury, BPM, and Civil Surgeon( CS) dr.Saiful Islam as special guests.
It was addressed among others, ADC(General) Rubel Mahmud, ADM Mizabe Rahmat, Veteran Freedom Fighter Company Commonder Mahbubul Alam, Ex- Muktadhara unit commonder A.B Siddique.
Kishoreganj Press Club arranged a discussion meeting held at its conference room. Club president A K.Nasim Khan presided over.
