The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed six cases against former health minister Zahid Malik and his son, former state minister of Post, Telecommunications, and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak along with his wife, and former state minister of Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam and his wife, for allegedly acquiring assets worth over Tk 155 crore through illegal means.
ACC Director Akhtar Hossain confirmed the matter on Thursday, saying, “The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the cases at its Dhaka Integrated District Office.”
The cases allege that former health minister Zahid Malik accumulated assets worth Tk 61.56 crore and his son Rahat Malik amassed assets worth Tk 11.84 crore beyond their known sources of income.
Meanwhile, former state minister of Post, Telecommunications, and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and his wife Arifa Jesmin have been accused of acquiring illegal assets worth nearly Tk 19 crore.
Additionally, former state minister of Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam and his wife have been accused of acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 72 crore.
