The divisional office of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) held a colorful rally here on Tuesday marking ‘Economic Census-2024’.
Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Sher Mahbub Murad inaugurated the rally by blowing festoons and balloons in front of Sylhet Deputy Commissioner’s office at 10 am. Later, the rally went around Bandar Bazar, Zindabazar and other roads of the city and ended in front of Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar in Chauhatta.
Deputy Director of Local Government Subarna Sarkar, Joint Director of Divisional Statistics Office Sylhet and Member Secretary of Divisional Census/Survey Committee Md. Sahabuddin Sarkar, Acting Deputy Director of District Statistics Office Sylhet were present in the rally, among others.
Statistical officers Kamal Uddin, Mintu Sarkar, Mostafa Mahabub Iftekar Chowdhury, Subrata Ranjan Hazra, officers-employees of various offices under Sylhet Divisional Statistics Office, scout representatives, enumerators of various zones engaged in Economic Census-2024 and students of schools and colleges etc also took part in the rally.
