BNP holds peace and harmony meeting in Bogura

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) held a peace and harmony meeting on Tuesday to counter anti-national propaganda being carried out by Indian media in the town’s Sanalbari ground.
Upazila BNP President VP Shahidul Islam Bablu presided over the function.

General Secretary Rafiqul Islam Mintu, BNP Central Committee Member KM Mahbubar Rahman Harez, District BNP Advisor Alhaj Shafiqul Alam Tota, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Alhaj Dabibur Rahman, Secretary Nazmul Haque Hiru, Organizing Secretary Abdul Momin, Mamunur Rashid Apel, Upazila Puja Udjawan Parishad President Nimai Ghosh, Vice President Karuna Rani Ghosh, General Secretary Sangram Kundu, Organizing Secretary Badhan Karmakar Krishna, Bangladesh Brahmin Sangsad Sherpur Upazila Committee President Soumendra Nath Thakur Shyam, Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad Upazila Branch President Barendra Chandra Sanyal, Leader Shuvo Adhikari, Jagannath Temple Committee Vice President Prakash Sarkar, Shrikant Mahato, central leader of the Adivasi Forum, and Nikhil Sarkar, member of the Hindu Mahajot Sherpur Upazila, among others, spoke at the meeting.

Alhaj Golam Mohammad Siraj, former MP from Bogura-5 constituency and convener of the district BNP spoke as the chief guest on the occasion. He said “We have got new Bangladesh through the mass uprising of students and the people movement.

We have regained our independence again so that we can speak openly. Even we have got new independence of our country. Yet we find some black clouds in the sky of our country again” he said.

“A self-interested group is looting, destroying shrines and attacking minorities in several places in the country. They are trying to destroy communal harmony between Hindus and Muslims. During the previous Awami League regime, they have tried to create various divisions within the country and take advantage of them.

As part of this, fascist Sheikh Hasina is running an anti-Bangladesh campaign by raising imaginary allegations of minority oppression while sitting in India.” he added.

“The BNP leaders further said that the fall of the Hasina government, have created a possibility of taking the country forward in a new way.

They have called on people of all communities, regardless of race or religion, to oppose such activities of that group seeking success. For this reason, he wants everyone to take the oath to build a new Bangladesh of the future.” he also added.
