BD-US defence dialogue starts today

The 11th bilateral defence dialogue between Bangladesh and the United States is set to begin today.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday, a military delegation from Bangladesh will participate in this two-day event.

Director General of Armed Forces Division (operations and plans) Brig Gen Md Alimul Amin, will lead the Bangladesh delegation in the dialogue, the ISPR press release said.

The dialogue will be held in Hawaii, United States and will conclude on 12 December.

This military dialogue is considered crucial for mutual military cooperation between the two countries.

Various topics related to military collaboration will be discussed during the dialogue including ensuring global and regional security, technology, defense equipment, disaster management, peacekeeping operations, training, inspections, joint exercises and drills, workshops, and other areas of mutual cooperation, the per the press release.

The Bangladeshi delegation will include senior officials from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladesh Coast Guard.
