An unidentified elderly man died after being hit by a train in Kishoreganj on Friday noon.
The identity of the deceased, presumed to be around 65, could not be known yet, said GRP.
The incident took place around 12.30pm at Fakir Bari rail crossing in Mohinanda union of Kishoreganj sadar.
Witnesses said the Nasirabad Express train leaving Mymensingh for Kishoreganj. When it reached the Fakir Bari railway crossing, the unidentified person who was walking on the railway tracks got run over by the train. He died on the spot.
They said despite the whistle, the man did not move and locals rushed to the spot and found him dead.
They informed police after the incident.
Government Railway Police (GRP) of Kishoreganj, Inspector Harun -ur- Rashid said that, the body was recovered from the spot after receiving information.
Police are trying to identify the victim.
