Film actor Naim is the son of the traditional Nawab family of Dhaka. Naim is the descendant of Nawab Sir Salimullah of Dhaka (he was the grandfather of Naim’s father).
The first silent movie ‘The Last Kiss’, a British Indian silent film, was produced by Naim’s family, i.e. Nawab’s family of Dhaka.
The movie produced by Ambuj Prasanna Gupta was released in 1931. Member
of the Nawab family, Khwaja Ajmal acted in it.
For the first time, a member of the Nawab family, film actor Naim, has
become a member of the jury board for the ‘National Film Awards 2023’.
Bangladesh’s legendary film actress Suchorita previously worked as a member of the jury board of the 2019 National Film Awards. After a break of three years,
she again got the same responsibility. This time she has become a member
of the ‘Jury Board’ of ‘2023 National Film Awards’.
A few days ago, this information was announced in
a notification signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Information
and Broadcasting by
order of the President.
For the past several days, Suchorita and Naim are busy watching movies. After watching movies every day, they are doing their
justice properly.
This time the total number of members of the jury board is 11. There is also
a president and
a member secretary.
A total of 13 people in
different categories of 2023 years ie 28 categories will recommend the best people for giving the awards.
Regarding watching movies of 2023 and serving as a member of the jury board for the National Film Awards, Suchorita said, “It’s my sincere gratitude to the State that I am once again
a member of the Jury Board constituted for such an important matter i.e. ‘National Film Awards 2023’. Before this, I once worked as a member of the jury board. I am working
on this for the second time. I have already seen several movies. After watching the movies, I am trying to fulfill the responsibility assigned to me properly. I am having a good time with the film actor Naim. Naim is a very kind hearted person. His modesty impresses me. He has a happy family with wife Shabnaz and their
two children. I have many prayers for Naim’s family.”
On the other hand, film actor Naim told this correspondent in this regard by this way, “I am trying to fulfill the responsibility given to me by the State. Since this is my first trial as a member of the jury board, that’s why the work is new and challenging for me. Since I have not only acted in films, but also produced movies.
I sat with the director on the story, especially with the narrator, I sat with the
editor during the editing of the movie, and I also worked with the noted cinematographer of the country. So, I understand and know very well about various aspects of cinema apart from acting. I will try to fulfill the responsibility assigned to me properly. Because
I believe that if I misjudge, show bias, I will have to face accountability for it someday. So, I am doing my work with 100 per cent honesty.”
