The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is committed to providing comprehensive support to boost the mutual fund sector and strengthen the capital market for the benefit of investors, stated BSEC Chairman Khondoker Rashed Maqsood.
He made the remarks at a seminar titled “Developing the Mutual Fund Industry in Bangladesh” held at the BSEC auditorium yesterday.
Highlighting ongoing efforts, the Chairman said that BSEC is actively addressing challenges and obstacles in the capital market and mutual fund sector, working towards sustainable solutions and development.
During the seminar, senior representatives from asset management companies shared their perspectives and provided recommendations on reforming the mutual fund sector and addressing related issues in the country’s capital market.
Special emphasis was placed on ensuring transparency, accountability, and good governance to bolster investor confidence in the mutual fund industry.
The meeting was chaired by Khandker Rashed Maqsood and attended by BSEC Commissioners Mr. Md. Mohsin Chowdhury, Mr. Md. Ali Akbar, and Ms. Farzana Lalarukh, along with BSEC officials and the CEOs of asset management companies operating in Bangladesh’s capital market.
