Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has said that the government will provide free, fast-track medical services for all those injured during the anti-discrimination movement.
The initiative, which includes lifetime free treatment in all government hospitals, is aimed at ensuring comprehensive care for those affected by the July-August uprising.
He came up with the remarks while speaking at a press briefing on Thursday in front of the office of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation and the Ministry of Health, on the government’s plan for the treatment, rehabilitation and employment of the student population martyred and injured in the July-August Revolution. The government has also designated the Cabin Block of BSMMU Hospital as a multi-disciplinary treatment center, offering outpatient services and specialized care for the injured, he added.
“New physiotherapy facilities, including robotic therapy, will be gradually introduced, and expert teams from abroad will assist in providing the service,” Sayedur Rahman said.
