A clash broke out between the two BNP groups in Rajapur Bazar area of Natore’s Baraigram. During an argument over the inauguration of the distribution of TCB products in Gopalpur Union, a person named Rubel was shot and injured.
Eye witnesses said that on Wednesday, 15/20 people, a follower of Md. Shamsul Alam Roni, a joint convener of Baraigram thana BNP, and 10/12 people, a follower of the Azhar Ali Khalifa, a former chairman of Gopalpur Union started hot talk. Bijol Ali, a follower of Roni, fired one round of bullet from a pistol at a stage of the conflict, in which a person named Md. Rubel Hossain (30) was shot and injured. Md Rubel Hossain son of Hasmat Khalifai of Arjunpur village of the upazila.
Sirajul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baraigram Police Station, said that additional police have been deployed at the spot. Legal action will be taken against the culprits after investigation.
